As a security officer you will interact with many types of individuals, for instance with residents and their guests, contractors, vendors, realtors and unwanted visitors.
Residential facilities can vary from a low to a high-rise apartment building, to a gated residential community. As a security officer you will have to verify identification, permission to enter, provide directions and guidance while demonstrating a friendly but firm demeanour. Many communities require officers to provide patrols of their community to confirm that the community rules are being followed. Such duties require strong verbal and written skills, computer literacy, as well as the ability to perform under stressful conditions.
